Christmas in Upington
With this year’s recession still fresh in my bank manager’s mind and no holiday house, my family decided to stay in Upington for the Christmas Holiday. It’s not all bad because Upington does have that holiday town feeling. So what is there to do in Upington this holiday? Well most of us staying at home especially the men might want to brush up on the saying; “Yes Dear” This is used when your wife says things like we have to fix the outside lights or clean up the braai area. And by we she means you! Other than fixing broken stuff I think you might want to do the following:
1 Take the kids for a movie at Ster Kalahari. The new Cloudy with Meatballs looks like an excellent movie and you will see us there! For adults the new romantic comedy The Ugly Truth is excellent and a must see.
2 Staying on the topic of movies the new Vee’s Video that opened by the garage in Keidebees have all the latest releases for home entertainment. They stock a wide variety of Series’ and Playstation and XBox games. The best thing is they do bookings!
3 Sakkie se Arkie is always on my to do list! I don’t know why but I love taking a ride on arkie! Sun downer + Best View = Good times
4 Taking a ride though town. This might not seem like a good time but some people in town decorated their houses with some really awesome lights and really brighten up the Christmas season. Even our main road is truly a sight to be seen with all the Christmas lights.
5 Shopping! What Christmas is complete without some presents? There are some nice things to buy on special at Game and other shops throughout Upington. If you know of any great deals leave a comment!
